This region has always been favored by Shiites and those who love the Prophet’s Households. The riots and movements which occurred in the middle of the third century in Bahrain had sometimes tints of Shiite ideas. This has caused some to regard those movements as the promoter of Shiism in Bahrain. However, an investigation of the early historical and traditional sources makes us familiar with the background of Shiism and the Shiite influential figures of Bahrain; thus we may trace the background of Shiism in this region to the period when Islam entered there and the Shiite Imams were alive. در جغرافیای تاریخی، «بحرین» به تمامی سرزمین‌های واقع در سواحل غرب و جنوب خلیج فارس (حدّ فاصل بصره و عمان) اطلاق می‌شود. این منطقه همواره مورد اقبال شیعیان و دوست‌داران مکتب اهل‌بیت‰ بوده است. قیام‌ها و جریان‌های میانة سدة سوم هجری در بحرین، گاهی رنگی از ایده‌های شیعی داشت. این موضوع موجب شده است برخی این جریان‌ها را باعث رواج شیعه‌گری در بحرین بدانند. ولی کاوش در منابع اولیة تاریخی و روایی، ما را با پیشینة تشیّع و شخصیت‌های تأثیرگذار شیعی بحرین آشنا می‌کند که می‌تواند سابقة تشیّع در این خطه را به عصر ورود اسلام به آنجا و زمان حیات ائمّة اطهار‰ برگرداند. https://www.shiitestudies.com/article_242453_a3f7b6a0b0fe2b7fb52efc731cb199eb.pdf
