Aban bin Taghallub started this movement in the second century, affecting hagiography to a great degree. These companions relied on Imams’ opinions to break up the monopoly of hagiography in a certain cultural trend; and since most of them were from Iraq, they established the Iraqi hagiography against the Medinian Hagiography. They introduced some branches into this realm to deepen and promote the hagiography; and in another step, they prepared the ground for general historiography. The holders of this approach were jurists and theologians who compiled works on history with their jurisprudential and theological assumptions. Inside this approach, some believed in interaction with other intellectual trends and some others believed in facing with other trends. Apart from these companions, a small group of Imams’ companions moved, as historiographers, along with the ongoing trend in hagiography. ورود اصحاب امامان شیعه به عرصة تاریخ‌نگاری، همراه با رویکرد کلامی و حضور آنان در تدوین سیره،‏ به انگیزة یافتن ریشه‏های تفکر کلامی در سیرة رسول خداˆ بود. این حرکت با پیش‌گامی ابان بن تغلب در قرن دوم آغاز شد و تأثیر بسزایی بر جریان سیره‏نگاری گذارد. آنان با تکیه بر آراء امامان‰، نخست انحصار تبیین و تدوین سیره در یک جریان فرهنگی خاص را شکستند و چون بیشتر عراقی بودند، نقش انحصار تدوین سیره را در زادگاه مدنی خود نیز درهم پیچیدند و مکتب «سیره‏نگاری عراقی» را در برابر مکتب «سیره‏نگاری مدینه» بنیان نهادند. آنان با وارد کردن برخی شاخه‏ها به این حوزه، سیره‏نگاری را عمق و گسترش دادند و در گامی دیگر، زمینه‏ساز نوعی تاریخ‏نگاری عمومی شدند. صاحبان این رویکرد فقیهان و متکلّمانی بودند که با پیش‏فرض‏های فقهی و کلامی، دست به‌کار تدوین تاریخ شدند. در درون این رویکرد، گروهی تعامل و گروهی رویارویی با دیگر جریان‏های فکری را باور داشتند. در کنار اینان، اندک کسانی از اصحاب امامان‰ نیز به عنوان مورّخ و همسو با جریان رایج در سیره‏نگاری، حرکت کردند. https://www.shiitestudies.com/article_242447_61e770b4f63b475c603ac5f11c613e57.pdf
